Some passions begin with a single moment. For us, it began in 2010 — the year our founder first held a meteorite in his hands and felt the weight of the cosmos. That moment of wonder never left him, and it became the seed of everything you see here today.
Born in Xinjiang, Rooted in the Stars
The Oriental Meteorite Science Museum is a private sanctuary nestled in Xinjiang, China — one of the most geologically rich and remote regions on Earth. We are proud to be one of the few meteorite-focused museums in Xinjiang, dedicated entirely to the discovery, study, and preservation of these extraordinary visitors from space.
Our home is no coincidence. Xinjiang is the birthplace of the Fukang meteorite — widely regarded as one of the most beautiful meteorites ever found. Discovered in the mountains near Fukang City, this stunning pallasite, with its golden olivine crystals suspended in a metallic matrix, has captivated collectors and scientists around the world. It is our greatest local treasure, and a constant reminder of why this land is so special.
A Collector's Life's Work
What began as a personal obsession grew into a mission. Over more than a decade, our founder has traveled, researched, and carefully curated a collection that spans meteorite types from across the solar system — from ancient chondrites to rare pallasites, from iron meteorites to lunar and Martian specimens.
